Michael is a senior partner in Gilbert and Tobin’s Intellectual Property Group. He specialises in IP litigations, particularly copyright litigation. He acted for the recording industry in its successful copyright infringement action in Australia against the operators of the Kazaa file sharing system (Universal Music v Sharman License Holdings).  He also acted in the leading case that found an internet service provider liable for copyright infringement (Universal Music Pty Limited v Cooper).  Michael is a regular commentator in the media on copyright and copyright law reform issues.
