The organisers of the Trading Ideas symposium are concerned about protecting your privacy. This policy sets out how we handle your information.

Clickstream data
Clickstreams are the paths a user takes when navigating a web page or the internet in general.

When you visit the Trading Ideas website our Internet Service Provider makes a record of your visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes - the user's server address, the user's top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc), the date and time of visit to the site, the pages accessed and documents downloaded, the previous site visited, and the type of browser used.

The symposium organisers examine this information to determine the traffic through the server as well as access levels to specific pages. No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the Internet Service Provider's logs. The statistics and log files may be preserved indefinitely and used at any time an in any way necessary to prevent security breaches and to ensure the integrity of the information supplied by IP Australia. 

E-mail addresses
We will only record your e-mail address if you send us a message, register your interest in the symposium or register your attendance at the symposium.  It will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it. We will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose and will not disclose it without your consent. Electronic mail submitted to IP Australia is handled and saved according to the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988.

Publication of information
Information provided by symposium delegates or individuals that is personal information, including telephone numbers, facsimile numbers or e-mail addresses, will not be disclosed beyond the symposium organisers, except as required by law.

Security

Any information we collect from you is stored in a secure database.

We use 128 bit encryption and a secure (SSL) connection for any delgate registration and payments.

No responsibility assumed
The Commonwealth, IP Australia, its officers and employees assume no responsibility in relation to the use of this web site or the information contained in it.
